Dr Chitra Ramalingam is an interdisciplinary curator and academic, working between the history of science and the history of photography. She has been a research fellow at the Science Museum London and the University of Cambridge, a photography curator at the Yale Center for British Art, and now teaches in the History of Science and Medicine Program at Yale University, where she teaches courses on the visual and material culture of science and develops experimental, collaborative pedagogies around university collections. Her current project, A British Mineralogy, which includes a collaboration with Indian artist Garima Gupta, explores the histories and layered geographies of mineral specimens in British natural history collections.
